Key Features:
1. The inner diameter of a horizontal thin-film evaporator is larger than that of a vertical one of the same specification, which is a disadvantage because it's cost is higher. But this can reduce the pressure drop of the steam, thereby improving the process performance.
2. The horizontal thin film evaporator can form a very stable liquid film even under a high concentration rate, which is much better than the vertical thin film evaporator at this point.
3. The horizontal evaporator has a longer residence time than the vertical evaporator. If the evaporator is used in a reactor or dryer, a longer residence time is an advantage.
